Product Details

Laboratory worktops are a critical component of any well-equipped laboratory, and the selection of the correct worktop material directly impacts the safety, durability, and functionality of the workspace. Lab ID Supplies offers six primary worktop materials to suit different laboratory applications.

Cast Epoxy (Durcon) worktops in 15mm or 19mm thickness deliver the highest level of performance, combining high chemical resistance, non-porous monolithic construction, flame retardancy, and moisture resistance, making them the recommended choice for fume cupboards and environments where chemical exposure, heat, and decontamination requirements are most demanding.

Phenolic Resin tops in 12mm, 16mm, or 18mm offer a value-for-money solution with medium chemical resistance and moisture resistance, widely accepted across most industrial laboratory settings.

Stainless Steel tops are recommended for wet environments and applications that require ease of cleaning, while Polypropylene tops are ideal for wet areas and common chemical-resistant applications at a cost-effective price point. Melamine Worktop (MFC) at 25mm is suited to dry instrument and writing areas where cost is the primary consideration, and Solid Surface options such as Marble or Ceramic are valued for their aesthetic finish in more commercial settings.

Worktops are available in a range of configurations including flat worktops, marine edge worktops with coved backsplash, fume cupboard bases, sink drainer units, and customised shapes such as round, octagon, hexagon, and sink module units. Epoxy worktops are supplied in standard sizes of up to 3020mm x 1520mm and are available in six colour options: Black, Grey, Graphite, Blue, Green, and White, with thickness choices of 15mm, 19mm, or 25mm, and edge profiles including plain flat, radius, chamfer, and marine edge. Phenolic Resin worktops are constructed from solid phenolic HPL panels incorporating antimicrobial agents throughout the decorative and kraft paper layers, and have been tested by the Standard Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) and the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (PSB) to DIN EN-1 and ISO 4586-1.
